During conversations about housing with hapū and whānau connected to marae, the question of how to build on Māori land is frequently occurring.
Tangata whenua have land but cannot build on it because most banks will not lend on multi-owned Māori land, Govt red tape or the Council hoops and that have to be jumped through are too complicated and costly. Whānau want to get back on the land quickly and cost-effectively.
With a lot of research, government department meetings and piecing the jigsaw pieces of red-tape together, we are pleased to present some helpful information for Papakāinga housing development.
You are invited to join our weekly Taumata korero zoom meeting online (Zui) for further information to help you with your Papakāinga, whenua, Marae building/development aspirations.
The Papakāinga korero zoom meetings are held at 6.30-8.30pm Wednesday nights.
We invite specialists to share their expertise and also offer whānau the opportunity to ask their questions.
Register for the Zui below, the more details you give the more we are able to help.
